Was the Night before Christmas

Was the night before Christmas and all through the barn,
Not a creature was stirring, Well maybe a mouse.
It was cold and windy and not a star in sight
but it was one perfect night.
The stocking were hung on the stalls doors with care,
in hope that Santa would soon be there.

The horses were snuggle in their stalls full of hay,
while carrots and sugar cubes dances towards their way
Chickens were sleeping, Donkey was snoring and and the pig was just a few feet away.

All of a sudden Dallas picked up his head,
he hears such a clatter,
he walked to the window to see what was the matter.
The others were still sleeping,
and he could not believe,
as something started to appear,
but a miniature sleigh and 8 tiny reindeer.

With a quick snort form a reindeer,
The animals wanted to cheer.
The shock in there eyes they did not know what to do.
Santa climb down from his sleigh and walked right through.

He was dress all in red and smelled of sweet feed.
He looked like he came from his own kind of breed.
A bundle of treats he threw on his back,
he looked like a peddler opening his sack.

He put out his hand and gave them each a snack.
Filled there socking full of peppermints, apples and sugar cubes, oh what a more could be in the sack.

When he was done he sprung to his sleigh to give his team a whistle,
they took off in the sky like a small missile.

And once he was out of sight they heard,
” Merry Christmas to all and to all Good night!”

what is it about animals that heal…..

Did you ever wonder what it was about, that animals can heal people. They encourage children to read, smile, interact and even feel again. They can help a person feel happy, when lonely and have nothing left in life or even give legs to an amputee. Maybe help a troubled teen find their way. How? They don’t speak our language. They don’t look like us. They are not even the same species as us. But they make us, the human, so darn happy.

Is it those beautiful brown, blue, green, red or orange eyes. That look at you with understanding and love. Is it the wagging of a tail or a purr of a kitten or even a gentle nuzzle of horse. Maybe the spunk of a ferret or a few kind and funny words from a bird. What can it be?

I believe the deepest and darkest secrets lie within these creatures. The voice that only the needed can hear. The voice that helps these people get through life and begin to live or want to live on. The unconditional love that no matter what you do wrong or look like or feel like they love you for who you are.

Who are the needy? We all are. Every one needs a friend; a furry friend, a feathered friend,or a slimy friend. Friends come in may different forms and sizes.

Animals have been known to help with physical problems too. They lower blood pressure, fill void in elder people in nursing homes, encourage handicap people to walk and give them the freedon get around. They can even help in therapy for criminals. They can teach compassion, love, and resposibilty that alot of people don’t know how.

Some of those animals were rescue and got a second chance and are here to help those who need help. They too have a story to tell. A sad and lonely one, i bet. But as they walk in the room all sadness for that animal are left behind and the only thing left is to look forward and help some one; You or a family member or a friend.

So we owe those great creatures for keeping our families safe, befriend someone who needs one, cuddle next to someone who is cold, give an amputees the chance to walk again, make a child laugh and help them read, sing a lullaby, or just be there for someone unconditionally.

Burrrrrr!!! It is Cold in Virginia. Just gonna warm up today in an electic blanket and find my muse. Going to Richmond Animal League(RAL) and see the animals. I am the adoption counsler for Tuesday evening. I hope alot of animals were adopted last week. But remember if you get a pet for a christmas gift, make sure that person is responsible and wants one. All I want for Christmas is for you to love me, to take me home and brush my coat and get the knots out of my mane and tail.

All I want for Christmas is for you to hold me and give me sugar cubes and kisses, Oh I love peppermints so don’t forget them.

All I want for Christmas is a warm stall, hay and grain to fill my belly while sugar plums and mistletoe dance in my head. I want to dream of happiness, playing in the open fields and enjoying life.

All I want for Christmas is someone to call my own, all I want is you.

All I want for Christmas is a pony.

All I want for Christmas is to be nuzzled from a true friend, someone to tell all my darkest secrets and share my happiness with.

All I want for Christmas is have someone to go on long walks and share a carrot with.

All I want is to dream of riding in open fields and showing you off to all my friends.

All I want for Christmas is to spoil you and keep you happy and warm.

All I want for Christmas is you.

Sunday I went to local Equine rescue lea…

Sunday I went to local Equine rescue league( where I go Thursday mornings and Sunday evenings) and played with the horses ( Mocha, Dana and Gin). It was cold and started to snow. Mocha found her a new Foster home and we had to help load her in trailer. She was not happy about that but after an hour of encouragement she loaded and off to her new home. The other were upset to see her leave but happy she found a nice place to go. Mocha is going to be a 4h project so she will get alot of attention. Good luck Mocha and see ya in the show ring!!!

When I got home I received 2 horses at my barn. One of them use to live here and is now back. My daughter is so happy b/c she loved that horse. And the other horse is here for training. His name is Justice and is very shy.We have 60 days to get him friendly and ride able. We have our work cut our for us but at the end it will be worth it.
